  • Oslo

The capital: the most universities and jobs, and high living costs.

  • Bergen

A harbour city known for marine and maritime studies.

  • Trondheim

Home of NTNU, Norway's big technical university.

  • Tromsø

Arctic research, northern lights and a close-knit community.

ELIGIBILITY

Who can apply

  • BACHELOR'S

    Strong HSC / A-level results

    IELTS 6.0–6.5 · English-taught Bachelor's options are limited.

  • MASTER'S

    Bachelor's, CGPA 3.00+ typical

IELTS 6.5 · Relevant subject background required.

FINANCIAL PROOF

Proof of funds is set every year.

Do

Keep 6 months of steady statements, tax papers and a clear source of funds.

Avoid

Sudden large deposits, unexplained money and last-minute paperwork.

LIFE IN NORWAY

Work, housing and what comes after.

  • Part-time work

Students can usually work up to 20 hours a week in term and full-time in holidays.

  • Accommodation

Student welfare organisations (SiO, Sammen and others) offer affordable housing — apply early.

  • After graduation

Graduates can apply for a residence permit of up to one year to look for work.
